Point To Ponder:

Did you know, that you alone, make the decisions that make your life what it is or isn't?

Read this sentence again.

What are you talking about Nani?   For example any of these sound familiar?

"He made me do it"
"I only did it because I was worried about what they would  say"
"I did it because I was forced to"
"My wife/husband won't let me"

Until each of us realise that we are accountable for our life and our choices we may forever keep relying on someone or something else to take the blame if things go wrong.

Action Point:
Ask yourself this question; how do I take responsibility for my actions today?

Point:  It Is often easier to blame someone else.but ultimately you and I need to 'stand up and be counted'.

Wisdom of our elders tells me  that  where and who I am is because of the choices I made.  Warts and all this is me; I rely on myself and
made positive choices (sometimes making mistakes but I own the mistakes too) vs relying on other people to change life's circumstance  for me.  Make sense?  What say you?

Riddle:  What broad message did this president have with this famous quote?

"If I had 6 hours to cut down a tree, I would spend the first 4 hours
sharpening my ax."         ~ Abraham Lincoln

Did you know?

According to the health experts at www.IntelliHealth.com, "A symptom is an abnormal experience, such as pain or stiffness, that a person may describe to someone else (including their doctor). A sign is an abnormality a person may observe or detect in another; an example is the finding of joint swelling a doctor may see when examining a joint.

"Symptoms of arthritis include: pain; sensation of swelling and stiffness in or near a joint, especially in the morning, limited joint function and increased pain with movement, and finally fatigue, a feeling of weakness, a
loss of appetite (only in some "systemic" forms of arthritis)  "Signs of arthritis include: joint swelling, joint redness, joint warmth, joint deformity, and finally loss of joint motion."

For you to stay healthy and to recover quickly from illness your immune system must be healthy as well.  All of you have probably heard about free-radicals and there are many products on the market that address this but..............................Here's the BIG BUT!  UNDERSTAND THIS PLEASE, CERTAIN ANTIOXIDANT COMPOUNDS DESTROY FREE RADICALS.  OPERATIVE WORD HERE IS DESTROY!  SO BE CAREFUL!

For example: according to recent research, very large does of vit. c can cause stomach trouble, kidney stones.

Iron supplements are a good idea ONLY if a doctor has prescribed them for you.  Check your supplements, often you can have iron overage because it is in your diet as well as most vitamins.  Knowledge is power my friends only when applied.

Business and life tip with an Oriental flare

A Lesson In Prospecting From The Shaolin Priests
                                       by John Colanzi

I remember the first time I saw the original Kung Fu TV show. We were a bunch of suburban Karate students who thought we knew all about the martial arts. Gathered around the set, we waited in anticipation as the new show was
about to air.

I could tell after the first few minutes that what I was watching, was far different than paying for a few lessons and conquering the world. No fast food, high speed learning.

So what does this have to do with prospecting?

The lessons from the show teach the ultimate in pre-qualifying your prospects.

Before they could enter the temple, a prospect would have to arrive early and wait. If they weren't allowed to enter, they would come back the next day and wait again. This ritual of waiting could last for weeks. Depending on the
master, the ritual could even go on for months.

Over time, the majority of the prospects would give up in frustration and only a small percentage of the initial group would last long enough to enter the temple.

Those that stuck it out, prequalified themselves by showing their:

Patience - Persistence - Burning Desire

Through this process, the monks could avoid wasting time on prospects that had a low chance of success. This also allowed them to devote more time to those prospects that showed possibility.

The prospects that passed the first test were then given menial tasks and chores around the Temple. They would basically provide free janitorial services. Over time there would be another group of prospects that would drop out and narrow the field down even further.

This second round of tests served to narrow the field down to those prospects who were:

=> The most patient

=> The most persistent

=> Had the strongest desire

=> Willing to follow instructions

=> Able to set aside their egos

The remaining prospects were those who had the highest chance of succeeding and becoming the future masters.

Think of how much easier your life would be if you prequalifed your prospects and could avoid the frustration of spending your valuable time on those prospects who aren't likely to accomplish anything.

It's sad, but true, that no matter how much time and effort you expend trying to help your prospects, the vast majority won't follow through.

Make your life easier by following the example set by the Shaolin Priests.

Wishing You Success,
John Colanzi

Profile in courage "My Kat Kelli"

Please indulge me a little here while I tell you of Kelli my remaining cat whom I have mentioned before in my book "Trial By Fire A True Story Of Hope".  Briefly, in a moment of personal dispair when I hesitated to give myself the potentially life saving "epi injection" my cats Michief and Kelli came to the rescue and kept nudging at my hand until I plunged the needle into my leg.  When I awoke, Kelli was sitting on my left leg warming it so it wouldn't spasm (which it often did when it got cold) and Mischief was licking my face to wake me up.  I must have fallen to the floor because the empty syringe lay on the carpet and so was I.  So you can imagine how special my two cats are to me and I promised them both that day a good life until death parted us.

Mischief died prior to the publishing of the book.

Kelli now 18 suffered a mild stroke on June 25, and then again a greater one on June 30.  Talk about spirit of hope and another lesson of life!  I took Kelli to the vet and Ron (my husband) told me I need to prepare myself for the lost of this most generous gift from creator, my loyal Kelli cat.  He was not moving, but his eyes were bright and he would eat and drink for me.  Good signs.  I was not ready to give him up but I knew all miracles come from creator and all I wanted was for Kelli to not suffer and when he left me, this magnificient friend would leave quietly and not paralyzed.  This was my prayer to creator God.  I remembered aspirin for human stroke or heart attack and so called Kelli's vet. Dr. Kennedy who ordered baby aspirin the first night then Dr. Carr ordered one half every 12 hours, 2 mg. prednisone and I nourished him with 3 cc of sunrider nuplus/quinary every hour for the first two days and then every 3 hours and now 6 cc every 6 hours.  Kelli began to rally on the third day, by the 4th he was not wanting help getting to the kitty box, by the 5th day he was sitting outside on a leash and by day 6 up and limping around, falling over occasionally, catching his breath and up he'd go again.  No accidents in the house, this proud old man of a cat makes it to his kitty box every time and today meows to go outdoors.  His left leg is still weak but he will stand and drag/walk alone thank you...............He is old, but he has not given up

As I sat and watched this courageous pet, I thought of how we as humans who can walk and talk and have so much, give up or quit too soon in life, career or relationships often at the first sign of distress............What a lesson in a profile in courage from my old and special cat.  Is he out of the woods?  The vet says, he cannot understand this recovery.  I can; Kelli is fighting back with every little 9.4 lbs of courage he can muster.  Today July 8, he is walking straighter, eating well on his own and outdoors on a leash an hour or so a day.  He is off of aspirin, still on prednisone every other day and eating half cup of plain nuplus to nourish and regenerate those cells a day mixed with a dash of quinary herb packet in calli beverage.  The miracle is in the body when you feed it what it needs, let a higher power guide whether we are human beings or animals.  Facinating isn't it!

Profile's in courage come from many venues.  Grandfather once said that "man's character is measured by how he treated all creatures, big or small, human or animal."  He also taught me to be quiet, listen and observe as nature is one of the greatest teachers.  I have learned lessons not taught in any classroom these last few days.  I hope in sharing this story you have too.  If you have email me at nani@universityoflife.info and I will print next issue.

Congratulations To Amanda and Keoni  who will begin a new life in Marriage on July 14, 2004 on the Makaha Beach, Oahu Hawaii.  May your lives be blessed with happiness and hope for today and everyday of your lives.  Keep creator God in your lives and the torch of faith always lite.

MASTERING THE ART OF LIVING
By Nani Aki Linder

Successful living always depends on intent and purity of thought to do no harm as you go about your life's journey. All things begin with choices and then work. Nothing is automatic. Seeing your life as half full or half empty is a choice. One is on survive mode, the other thrive. Pick one!

Hint: when you delete the need to understand, make no judgements or comparisons you are eons ahead of "cutting edge" thinking!

Malama Pono, Nanipuaaalaomaililaulii - Kagi Ska Wa Apana canoe paddler

Special humble greetings to All Native Americans with particular note to Wadopana and Wa Apana canoe paddlers:  I invite you to take your children for naming as is the way of our ancient peoples; I invite you to smudge yourselves with the aroma of sage and sweetgrass and light your campfires so that creator can share in the sights, sounds and aroma which lifts your gratitude prayers and petitions to his keeping. I invite you to seek out your humble spiritual leaders for guidance and attend the sweat lodge they offer. I invite you to teach the teachers so they might know our ways so they might uplift and leave none of our children behind.  Our children are our future.  May creators wisdom fill your bodies, minds and spirits with the spirt of hope and enlightened journey for our future.

FEATURE ARTICLE

The Top of the Health Care Ladder - Food!

Part 2

By Nancy Donahue

The early Chinese doctors believed that instead of taking medicine to help cure a health problem, one should instead eat the proper herbs to prevent the body from even getting sick. The Chinese doctor was paid to keep his patients well and if they became ill, payment ceased until he got his patients well again-at his own expense.  What a health insurance plan!

Regeneration

"Regeneration" is giving life at the cellular level so those cells, "that have over 600 functions," can regenerate or become stronger and stronger rather than degenerating and becoming weaker and weaker.  Every year 98% of our body is new! The question is-will our body be stronger or weaker just one year from now?  That depends on what kind of foods we are giving our body-regenerative or degenerative foods.  They give life to the body so that it is able to overcome its own weaknesses and health challenges naturally, creating abundant vitality. Our food should be our medicine!

"A truly good physician first finds out the cause of the illness, and having found that, he first tries to cure it by food.  Only when food fails, does he also prescribe medication."

 -San Ssu-mo, Tang Dynasty (618-907AD)

Regeneration is truly the only way to successfully overcome health challenges and weaknesses naturally, thereby gaining a new level of health and vitality never thought possible.  The body is the miracle!

Is Your Body Regenerating or Degenerating?

A Regenerating Body Experiences:

  • Energy and Strength
  • Vitality
  • Endurance
  • Cleansing
  • Natural Slenderness
  • A Sense of Well Being
  • Emotional Stability
  • Ability to Overcome Addictions
  • Feeling rested in the morning
  • Good Skin Tone
  • Good Muscle Tone
  • Regular Menstrual Cycles
  • Quick Recuperation
  • Clear Thinking
  • Good Digestion and Elimination

A Degenerating Body Experiences:

  • Tiredness
  • Fertility Problems
  • Depression
  • PMS
  • Overweight or Underweight Problems
  • Poor Muscle Tone
  • Emotional Disorders
  • Fluid Retention
  • Digestive Problems (Gas, Bloating, Diarrhea, Constipation)
  • Tendency toward Infections
  • Skin and Hair Problems
  • High Cholesterol
  • Premature Aging
  • Poor Concentration
  • Slow Metabolism

A healthy body has the ability to manage itself if properly nourished.  Proper nutrition from whole foods will produce remarkable changes-good health, an abundance of energy, and natural slenderness.

FOOD herbs are the most powerful regenerative FOOD we can obtain.  Nutritive elements found in whole food herbs are the highest of any plant form.  Being FOOD-grade herbs, the body is still in charge, being nourished, and managing itself.  I recommend Sunrider foods and eat them everyday and have for the past 20 years +.

Thank you, Nancy for an enlightening article on Regeneration.  Nancy Donahue is a Silver Master Director in Sunrider International from Missoula, Montana.  We have been friends for 20 + years and I am so impressed with her knowledge of herbal remedies and in particular her knowledge of the process and uses of Sunrider products.  Many of you have heard me speak of regeneration and the three categories of herbs.  If you wish information  on how to  purchase these food grade  products email me nani@universityoflife.info This is what my kelli kat ate during his stroke episode and to date.

Point of Action: As always this issue presented many thought provoking articles.  Keep what you need and discard the rest.

Summer is a time to be outdoors.  Lets try this, take the children for a nature walk, to visit a national park or if thats not possible create a picnic park in your own back yard.  Time is future and future passes as I write this.  Know what, cleaning the house can wait, family living and fun together can't wait.  Children grow up so fast before you know it they are out the door and moving into their own lives.  So enjoy them while you have them and teach them to share, care, be thankful and most of all the value of family and all its joys.

Reflective moment:

Ask yourself often, "am I a pleasant experience to come home to or would I enjoy coming home to me?"

How you answer may make the difference in happiness or not, success or not.  Interesting thought isn't it!  What say you?
